D&P Classic Chevy recently completed a complete restoration/modernization of a 1969 Camaro for California Angel baseball player Vernon Wells. The goal was to build a fast, comfortable dependable muscle car that fun to drive. In order to achieve this goal D&P completed a complete body-off the frame restoration. For power D&P selected a GM Performance LS3 crate engine conservatively rated at 430 H.P. along with a 4L65e 4 speed automatic transmission.

The original 10 bolt rear end was replaced with a 12 bolt differential with 3:73 gears and posi-traction. A Detroit Speed front subframe was selected to provide this first generation Camaro with the latest and greatest in handling characteristics. The front and rear of the Camaro were tied together with Global West sub-frame connectors and rear spring package. For stopping power a Baer brakes 6 piston 4 wheel disc brake system was installed.  A March Performance engine pulley system was installed on the LS3. Comfort upgrades included Vintage  Air Conditioning, Flaming River tilt column, Electric life power windows, and much more. A long list of restoration parts from Classic Industries was used for the restoration.  A one off set of D&P 18 inch billet aluminum wheels were designed and built for Vernon’s Camaro.

D&P would like to thank Mr. Wells for selecting D&P to build his dream car. We hope he is enjoying cruising his new classic Camaro.
