As most of you Chevy enthusiasts are aware you could buy a new 57 Chevy with your choice of a 6 cylinder or the mighty 283 cubic inch V8. Although a great engine for It’s time most of us like a little more go power today. D&P customer Doug W. finally found the 57 rag top he always wanted, but it was stock and not nearly fast enough for his taste. Doug and the crew at D&P put together a plan to design and build the 57 that Doug always wanted. The result is this bright red modernized Belair. D&P performed a complete body-off-the-frame restoration on Doug’s 57. The 57 was a good starter car but needed everything like most cars that have never been fully restored. For power D&P installed a GM Performance LS6 (Z06 Corvette) crate engine with a Magnuson Supercharger. The transmission choice was the 4L65E electronic 4 speed automatic. Other options include modern power steering with an Ididit Tilt column, Baer 4 wheel disc brakes, power windows, vintage air conditioning, a custom leather interior, canvas Haartz power top, and lots more. Doug has put thousands of miles on the 57 since completion and enjoys cruising So Cal with the top down and the radio up!
